We will formally launch the new project ‘Implementing Vocational Education Program for Water Construction workers’ on a kick-off conference on February 22nd, 2011.
Aim of the project is to improve the quality of water construction workers in Indonesia. To achieve this, VAPRO works in a partnership with
several partners:
• WATEROPLEIDINGEN (World Water Academy)
• PT. BAM Decorient Indonesia
• Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya
• SMKN 1 Jakarta
• SMKN 7 Surabaya
• SMKN 1 Nusa Penida
• Possible (sub)contractor firms in the field of water construction*
*VAPRO invites companies and contractors to participate in this project and the Water Construction training program.
In this project VAPRO and its partners will develop, test and implement a vocational education program to improve Knowledge, Skills and Competences of (future) water construction workers. The project is supported by the Dutch government and the Indonesian Ministry of Education.
The project duration will be three years. The conference will inform stakeholders about this project, the context and expected results. Various speakers will demonstrate how this project fits in the long term strategic goals for both the Indonesia Vocational and Technical Education System and the Water Construction sector.
The conference is organized for senior policymakers with regard to (Vocational) Education and Water Construction sectors, for public and private vocational schools in the field of civil engineering and building techniques, and for directors, managers, supervisors from Water Construction companies and contractors.
